About Veggie Tales: Veggie Tales have been around since 1993 created by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki. Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber jump up on the countertop to teach kids Christians values and Bible lessons. Every episode ends with Bob and Larry talking to Qwerty the computer who gives them a Bible verse for application. Parents if you do not know Veggie Tales, I highly recommend watching some episode with your kids. You will love it as much as they do.

Veggies in the City and Veggies is the House is available on Netflix featuring a new take on Veggie Tales. While is different from the originals, look and application, my kids really enjoy both series. If you grew up on Veggie Tales, it will take you some time to get use to this new look and feel.  (I share this because the illustrations model this series.)

Review of the Book: True to comic book fashion, Aaron Linne and Cory Jones take the classic Veggie Tales stories and turn them into page turners for your young kids. The first two stories are basically retelling the episode the book was based on. But my kids loved that. The third story is Larry Boy and the Rude Beet. My kids love Larry Boy, and this comic captures the concept of Larry Boy perfectly as the kids learn to overcome rudeness with kindness and teamwork.

How did my kids like it? It is still on the boys’ shelf next to their beds… 5 years later. The girls also had Veggie Tales comics on the shelf in their room. They love these comic books. My kids seem to go through phases where these book gets read often. Currently we are in a phase of reading all of them because I asked for them to get them out so I could write this review.

Parent Tip: I highly recommend having these comics as options for your children. Just having books with Christian values on your shelf is a great opportunity for your kids. It reinforces your Christian values in a fun way.
