“If it were easy, everyone would do it.”
I tell my kids this all the time. Especially when they’re learning or perfecting a new skill or hobby- like crocheting, playing music, sewing, running… seriously I cannot count how many times I have said this to all six of them individually.
But today I saw these exact words posted in relationship to faith. If obedience were easy, everyone would do it.
It’s not easy. It takes us our of our comfort zones. And let’s be honest, we like our comforts.
To be prepared, we need to train ourselves for godliness. Just like an athlete trains for his/her sport. Practice the skills you need to do what you’re called to do.
Build your relationship with the Lord!
Know the Word of God!
Be prepared to share it!
And trust the Holy Spirit to lead you.
Additionally, make sure you are teaching your children about the hope found within you in both actions and words. Your actions need to line up with your words.
If it were easy, everyone would do it.
