Yesterday my kids were trying to watch YouTube using the television and remote control. Of course, the internet went out, and they needed some help. I reset the router, grabbed the remote, and attempted to use the search button. But the thing seemed to be going wonky. I hit left; it went right. I hit up; it went down. “What is going on!” I yelled out loud.

My oldest said, “Um… mom, you’re holding the remote upside down…”

I looked down and what do you know? He was right. I was holding the remote upside down.

I feel like I’ve been living this way for a couple weeks now- upside down. Out of sorts. Of my A game. This week has been soooooooooooooooo looooooooooooooooooong.

I’m so ready for life to be back to normal. I keep trying to do my normal, but it feels wrong. It feels like I’m living upside down.

But if I would just open my eyes and look, I would see that remote is upside down…God is faithful through this all. He has led be in the past, He leads me now, and He will continue to do so. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. His blessings continue to surround me. Yes, maybe a virus is altering my way of life. Maybe things won’t go back to normal anytime soon. But God is still on the throne. He is still blessing me.

How timely is it that this week is Holy Week. The week that we get to purposely remember all of what Jesus did for us on that Cross. Yesterday we celebrated Jesus entering Jerusalem being treated like a King. A lot happens in just one week. In one week, Jesus would choose to serve a betrayer. Jesus would wash his feet. Jesus would predict his death and betrayal. He would give an example for us to follow at the Last Supper. He would weep bitterly, pray earnestly… And being fully man and fully God, He would take up that cross, be crucified, died, and buried.

As I sit locked up in my house, I can only imagine the fear that the disciples felt as they were locked up mourning the loss of their teacher, Rabi, and friend. They didn’t understand. They didn’t know that Easter was coming. Their lives were literally tossed upside down.

Then the HOPE OF EASTER! What a glorious sight! Our Risen Savior! What a glorious truth! Jesus was who He said He was and now we have the hope of eternal life!

Guys, we are uncomfortable, but Jesus is still on the throne.

Look up and see His blessings. They are all over!
