Every Saturday morning, we sleep in, eat waffles for breakfast, and clean the house. And every Saturday morning I find myself cleaning up behind my kids.
This morning, after they swept the kitchen, dining room, and office area I came behind them… AND swept up FOUR TIMES more than they had managed to pick up.
Now most of this is that they are learning. Some of it is that they don’t see it.
But it really does show me what the Holy Spirit does in my life. I mean I think I am cleaning up my life, and here He comes sweeping up behind me. I think I am steering clear of sin… and then He shows me where it is at in my life, so I can work at it.
I will never be able to clean myself up on my own. That’s why we need Jesus.
God knew we could escape our brokenness on our own, so He entered into our brokenness. He sent Jesus to live the perfect life we could not live and take the punishment of sin we all deserve.
Without Jesus will are separated from God!
With Jesus we are made right with Him and put into right relationship with Him!
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
