Recently my sister sent me some pictures of her little guy. I responded asking how one little boy could look exactly like her and her husband at the same time. She didn’t see it, so I did the only thing a big sister would do- prove her wrong… by sending her pictures of us when we were little.

But those pictures have actually become a conversation I’ve had with friends as I explain how my kids may look like me now, but not like me when I was little.

Naturally these conversations lead into the who does who look like. I, mom, thoroughly enjoy these conversations. I like to see myself and my husband in our children… our creation…

Each kid is so different, yet there is a resemblance that cannot be denied.

I wonder if this is even a glimpse of what is like to be made in God’s image. Each person is unique and different, yet there is a resemblance to God that makes Him proud… like a parent.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them (Genesis 1:27).”

Each person, carefully, skillfully, and wonderfully made in the image of our loving Father, the Creator of the universe.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well (Psalm 139:14).”

Pretty cool thought if you ask me.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).”
